Sam, Matt and Teddy, a white family looking to adopt a baby in San Antonio

Sam & Matt

Welcome to the Preblich Family! We’re really glad you’re checking out our profile. We know that deciding on adoption is a big deal, and we’re super grateful that you’re considering us.

Here’s a bit about us: We met in 2017, married in 2020, and had our son in 2021. Not only are we excited for this process as the baby will have the blessing of family from both our sides, but we look forward to our child having a bonus family. We plan to fully support any relationship you want as birth parents, or any other part of your family may request.

Take a look around our page and feel the love and support that makes our family special. We’ve got grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, and friends all ready and excited to welcome a new member into our family!

Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family

Eat Matt’s yummy homecooked meals and Sam’s baking | Go on a road trip | Celebrate Christmas and Hannukah (affectionately called Chrismukkah) and all the other holidays | Visit the zoo – in almost every city we go to | Introduce baby to his or her big brother and furry big sister | Read together as a family | Dress up in family Halloween costumes, we rope the grandparents and dog in to it too | Nurture kindness, love and inquisitiveness which they will share with the world.

Our Family

Our family is big, supportive and full of laughter. Gigi and Baba (Sam’s parents) live ten minutes from us and regularly have sleepovers with Teddy. Grandma and Grandpa are also in San Antonio and look forward to another baby in the family. Both sets of grandparents are never far and always excited to play with their grandchildren. The child will have three aunts and one uncle, and that doesn’t even include all the friends who get the honorary title of aunt or uncle. Add in all the cousins and extended family you see our big crazy village full of love.

Teddy

What is your name? T-E-D-D-Y (we are working on spelling words)

How old are you? This many (three fingers)

What are you excited to do with the baby? Show them all my toys

What is your favorite animal? Giraffe

What do you want to be when you grow up? A doctor

What were you for Halloween? Mickey

Teddy is our biological child. He is wise beyond his age and loves to make people laugh. He also has a very sweet quiet side; he loves to give hugs. He is very aware that he is the only grandchild on both sides, but he looks forward to teaching his sibling and having a built-in playmate. We love to encourage his curiosity in any way we can, as Teddy will ask why to anything you say and will not fall for “because I said so.”

Why Adoption

We have always considered adoption; we spoke about the prospect early on in our relationship before we were granted the surprise of Teddy. However, after doctors advised Sam to not have any more biological kids, our first thought was that we were blessed with the opportunity to open our home to another child by way of adoption. Our hope is that we are able to expose this child to their heritage even if it is different from ours.

Parenting Philosophy

We strongly believe in explaining things to our child to educate them about our decisions. As well as letting them have a say when possible. We believe in open communication with our child and encouraging their passions. For us, family is about inclusivity, trust, and respect – aspects which will help us to foster a relationship in an open adoption.

4 Things About

Sam

I have found a recent hobby of baking. Matt and Teddy don’t seem to mind being taste-testers.

I have an interesting sense of humor, while some may say is dry. I would challenge them to come up with better dad jokes. I am the queen of puns and dad jokes.

I love trivia and often watch Jeopardy. Teddy likes to watch too; he has the daily double sound down and will often parrot the answers from the contestants making him feel like he won.

Being a mom is one the most special titles I have ever had.

4 Things About

Matt

I subscribe to the belief that salad is rabbit food, though I have come around to some vegetables

As a kid, I wanted to be a park ranger and still love camping, fishing and hiking.

I love to play with Teddy and see all his imagination. Whether it is lightsaber fights in the dark or using me as a horse.

I have lived in Minnesota, Alabama, Arkansas and Alaska and I have traveled to even more states. I look forward to road tripping as a family and exploring the outdoors.

I love to sing. (life is a highway from Cars is my jam).

Currently, I am obsessed with Mickey and his pals. Watching any form of Mickey on Disney, even steamboat willie

I want to go see Mickey’s castle
