Kevin & Matt
Hi! We are Kevin & Matt, and we are so thankful you are taking the time to get to know us. We are a young couple living in the suburbs of Chicago with our dog, Angel. We have been together since 2014 and got married in 2017. We both have a passion for experiencing new cultures and traditions, and we are blessed to be able to travel frequently and learn about the world.
We deeply love each other and the life we have built together, but we know our family isn’t quite complete without a child to share in our adventures. We chose to pursue adoption because we have a close family connection to it – Matt’s step-father was adopted. So your child would be welcomed with open arms and loved unconditionally by a family that has been built – not through blood – but through love.
We hope this page helps you to get to know us, what we value, and the kind of life your child would have with us. We are thrilled to show you this glimpse into our life, and we hope to get to meet you someday!

Our Home
We live in a single-family home the Chicago suburbs with a great community full of parks, shops, restaurants, hiking, and more. It’s the best of both worlds: small-town charm, and it’s quick trip into the city to take advantage of all that it offers. Our home has a large backyard to run around and play in, and a fire pit to hang out with friends on warm summer evenings.
Our Pet
Angel has been a part of our family since 2015. She is a shepherd mix, and she loves to go for walks, laze in the back yard, and snuggle on the couch. She has met our friends’ kids and loves to play with them, too!
Our Hobbies
We both love to cook and bake together. Every Sunday, we make sure to take time to make a nice dinner together, and we usually pick a recipe where we can both work together. Matt loves building models and 3D puzzles, and he also plays piano. Kevin likes photography and spending time outdoors.
How We Met
We met while in grad school at Northwestern University. Our two academic buildings were next door to each other, and Matt lived in one of Kevin’s best friend’s apartment building. We probably crossed paths dozens or hundreds of times, but we found each other online and met for the first time at a Thai restaurant. We ended up staying and talking at the restaurant until it closed, and forgot our leftovers on the table! We haven’t gone a day without talking to each other since then.
What Adoption Means to Us
Ever since we met, we knew that we wouldn’t consider our family complete without a child. We both love learning and experiencing new things, and we are most excited about having a child so we can share our love of learning and see the world through his or her eyes, too. Adoption is a way for us to not only bring a child into our family, but to expand our family to include the traditions and practices of the child’s birth family, too.
