Katie and Jesse, a white married couple hoping to adopt, in front of their Dallas area home

Katie & Jesse

Hi! Welcome to our page, we are Jesse and Katie Frugé (Froo-Jhay). Our life is a little like our last name, fun loving!

Thank you for visiting our page and taking the time to get to know us. We’ve wanted to become parents for over a decade, and we wouldn’t be here without you. This process has been emotional for us. We’re sure it has been for you too. When it’s all said and done, we will be grateful for finding each other.

Our adoption plan has always included making sure the birth parent(s) get as much or as little communication as desired. No matter what, we wish only the best for you and your child. We look forward to meeting you as we progress through this together!

Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family

Eat and learn how to cook Cajun food | Travel to all the beaches | Visit our family in Louisiana | Celebrate Christmas together – Katie loves to decorate for the holidays! | Teach him or her the importance of being a good person | Cheer on the LSU Tigers! | Sing At the TOP OF OUR LUNGS! | Watch and attend as many sporting events as we can | Bake birthday cupcakes | Create family traditions like Friday night movie/pizza night!

Our Pets

We love being surrounded by our three dogs and two cats. Our three dogs Cozy, Koko, and Beatrice are dramatic and lovable. Cozy came to us in 2015 from a shelter. We purposely sought out the oldest dog at the shelter and thought she was 10 years old. It turns out she was only 3 months old. Koko is highly anxious but looks fabulous all the time. Beatrice just turned 1 year, and she is wild woman.

Our two cats, Nathen and Winston, are brothers and like to destroy things. Nathen is very quiet and gets lost in the house. Winston is talkative and thinks he’s a human.

The pets spend their days sleeping on the couch. They couldn’t be more different in their personalities. We can’t imagine our lives without them!

OUR HOME

We purchased our home in May of 2015 with the purpose of starting a family in it. We are the only family to live in our house. Katie loves to cook in the large kitchen. We’ve updated our home a few times since 2015. We are proud of our house and want to build more memories in it.

Our home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a home office. We also added a custom covered patio in the backyard.

There are many young families in our neighborhood. There are also two elementary schools, a middle school and a city park within walking distance of our home.

We look forward to bringing a child to our favorite place – our home!

Our Parenting Philosophy

It is most important to us that we allow our child to become who they want to be. There is no mold in which they are required to “fit into.” We will love them with abundance and also allow them to teach us along the way. We believe parenting takes patience and kindness and massive compassion. Therefore, we want to teach our child what acts of kindness look like, how to be kind, how to be loyal to family and those that love them. We want to teach them how to respect people even if they’re different from us.

We believe the experiences children have in their home may have a direct impact on their life as an adult. It’s through respectful communication, taking the time to be patient with one another and showing love as a family that makes the difference.

Our Extended Family

Going home to Louisiana is always a busy time.  We have a lot of family in Louisiana despite having lost some important people in our lives. We were both raised by our mothers.  Katie’s dad passed away when she 12 and Jesse’s father left when he was six.  So, you can imagine how important it is for both of us to be in the picture and present for our child’s life.  We don’t want to miss a moment!

The biggest holiday for our family is Thanksgiving.  It’s more like a family reunion full of fun and laughter.  Nobody has to travel too far as the majority of our family is still in Louisiana. So, it’s no stress and full of making memories.  Our whole family is excited to include our child in these memories.

How We Met

Both of us were born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. We met in 9th grade in Ms. Tate’s English class. It was the first of many classes we would have together. We were friends in high school, but never dated. We even worked together as teenagers at Texas Roadhouse. After high school, Katie moved to Baton Rouge for Cosmetology School while Jesse attended college at LSU.

Eventually, we reconnected on Facebook in 2012 when Jesse sent Katie a message that simply said, “Hey You.” That simple message lit a flame that continues to burn to this day. Jesse was living in Dallas and Katie in Shreveport. In 2013, Katie moved to Texas to be with Jesse. We married in 2014 in our little hometown of Lake Charles so all our family could celebrate with us. It was an amazing day!

We’re still residing in North Texas and can’t wait to welcome a child into our inviting and cozy home!

What Adoption Means to Us

We tried to get pregnant for 12 years and realized that natural birth is not the only way to become parents. It may have taken us a little while to get here. We knew we wanted to be both emotionally and financially ready to welcome a child. We have moved our careers in the right direction and prepared our home for this child. We realize loving and nurturing a child is far more important than giving birth.

We are grateful to the birth mothers who have taken the time to read our profile! We wouldn’t be able to do this without you.
