Hi, we are Hali & Matt! We want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little. It is a long-time dream for us to be parents and we would be honored to love, protect & nurture this child.

We share a loving marriage based on honesty, trust, fun, & adventure. We live in Buda, Texas – a charming little bedroom community to Austin, TX.

Matt has a work from home job in finance & Hali is a nurse & plans to move to part-time after becoming parents. We try to experience many joyful things in life including traveling near and far. We have been so fortunate to have a wonderful support system of family and friends that we absolutely love to spend our time off with. The one thing, however, we both want to experience more than anything is parenthood and adoption has always been part of our plan. We just can’t wait for a baby to join our family!

Thank you for considering us to become parents & to share all the joys in life with the little one.

Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family

Play all the fun games in our game night box. We love Telestrations, makes us laugh until we cry when we play with our family. | Eat family meals together, pizza on movie nights or our favorite restaurants  | Travel to everywhere we can in the world | Visit all your little cousins, Disney World, Dollywood, the beach! | Celebrate holidays and birthdays | Teach him or her all about world history (Matt), maybe an instrument if they want to | Watch him or her grow into a loving, creative, happy child and on… | Bake holiday cookies! Shaped like snowmen, or witch hats. | Make drawings that we can frame and hang on the wall, sandcastles on beaches we visit. Lots of fun memories! | Be there for all the ups & DOWNS, know that we are there to talk to & to talk through anything at anytime.

Our Pets

We have two sweet pets. Gus (Goose, Goose) is our dog. Nanow is our cat. Both are rescues. They are a huge part of our family. They are very sweet, gentle & marvelous with everyone, including kids. We just love them so much.

OUR HOME

We live in a cute little 3 bedroom house in the historic district of Buda, Tx. Our home is warm & inviting with a beautiful big back yard. We have fun animal neighbors (& people) & we live just blocks away from downtown Buda filled with cute shops & restaurants. The Buda Amphitheater & City Park is at the end of our street always catering fun family activities.

OUR HOBBIES

We love to travel all over the world, but one silly thing we do is stay in hotels that are “haunted”. Matt is a huge skeptic when it comes to ghosts, so we do little staycations all around Texas and even sometimes outside of Texas. It’s really just a fun excuse to go on a trip! We also recently started putting together puzzles, it’s very therapeutic. Matt loves to read anything on history, he is a huge history buff. He also loves working out. Hali likes to dabble on the guitar & cook. We like long walks & bike rides when the temp allows it & we love game nights.

Our Extended Family

Matt is from Austin & his folks still live there, where we have brunch with them every week. His step-brother lives just north of Austin with his wife and 2 kids and His sister lives in Northern California (one of Matt’s favorite places to visit).

Hali’s large and close-knit family is still mostly in Tulsa, Oklahoma, (where she grew up). She has 5 siblings all very close in age, most of them have little kids, lots of cousins! Natali is Hali’s youngest sibling, she lives just down the street in Kyle with her husband Ben ( he was adopted as a baby too!) & their two young kids. We spend time with them every weekend. We have lots of family & friends that are like family & believe having a strong community is the most important thing in the world.

Parenting Philosophy

We want to raise a child who feels 100% loved and safe. One that grows up with the understanding that every decision we make for them, even the ones they may not like, is made in their best interest. We want them to learn and grow from mistakes & know that it is okay to talk to us about it.  We want to provide an environment that encourages a healthy, creative & active life with good education, & knowing the importance of good values & adventure & hope they can just love being themselves. One other important thing for us as parents is that with the birth parent’s permission, we will always have a line of communication, we want this child to know that they came from the most selfless people in the world.

How We Met

We met the good ole fashion way, online! Matt was super busy with a new work project & Hali was a few days from starting her next semester in nursing school. We both were reluctant to even go on this date. We are so glad we did! We met at a coffee shop & discovered that although we came from very different backgrounds, Hali has a giant family, Matt a very small one, we also had so much in common. We both love travel & outdoor activities. We believe creating memories are more important than things. We share a love for animals, & both are wanting a family.

5 Things About

Hali

I lived in LA for nearly a decade while working in the acting industry! I made lots of commercials, indie films, & voice over work for American Dad & various video games.

I got hired to host karaoke at a really popular sports bar in Los Angeles because I was so bad at singing! Patrons weren’t afraid to follow a bad singer, but they would never sign up after the former host with a good voice.

I grew up in a haunted house! I’m not crazy (lol) – everyone in the family claims it & even some friends! It definitely has me very open minded about the after-life. We do little staycations in “haunted hotels” for fun.

I do not have any wisdom teeth, never grew in. My dentist called me evolved.

I have 5 siblings, very close to each of them, we all got chased by a pack of coyotes out at our grand-parents farm as kids, we survived :).
