We do not believe that a parent should have to choose a permanent solution for what may be a temporary situation. If financial hardship is your only reason for considering placing your baby for adoption, we encourage you to contact these Austin-area resources offering free or low-cost services that may allow you to parent your baby instead.

Giving Austin Labor Support
Giving Austin Labor Support (GALS) is an official 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization serving Austin, Texas for more than a decade. We seek to provide emotional and physical support to families during their birth experience.
Mom’s Place
Mom’s Place Lactation Support Center is a specialized breastfeeding support clinic and training center where mothers can receive breastfeeding assistance. We are grant funded through Texas Department of State Health Services. There is no charge for our services and mothers can return to the center as often as needed.
Postpartum Support International
PSI-TX is the Texas state chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI), the world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to helping those suffering from perinatal mood disorders, the most common complication of childbirth. Our mission is to promote awareness, education, prevention, and treatment of perinatal mental health issues affecting mothers, their families, and support systems in all areas of Texas.

Central Texas Food Bank
We work with food donors across the country, financial supporters and volunteers to fill unmet needs in Central Texas. This commitment from private, government and charitable partners has allowed us to bring nearly 54 million meals to our community last year and into the hands of families and local nonprofits that turn to us for help.
Round Rock Area Serving Center Food Pantry
Our food pantry supports a healthy pantry initiative by striving to distribute more fresh fruits and vegetables. The pantry processed 1.6+ Million pounds of food to qualified clients in our community.
El Buen Samaritano
Our food pantry offers emergency food assistance with nutritious food to families and individuals in Central Texas. Clients are welcome to pick up food for themselves as well as neighbors or family members who may be home bound, mobility impaired, or without transport. No appointment is necessary.

Any Baby Can
Any Baby Can provides childbirth and parenting classes for anyone looking to gain new parenting skills and create strong, positive relationships with their children. Nurturing Parenting classes are offered at no charge.
Safe Baby Academy
Educate yourself and learn how to protect your infant in our FREE Safe Baby Academy for expectant families or parents and caregivers of children under 12 months.
The Source Austin
We provide informational classes to help you have a healthy pregnancy and/or learn good parenting skills. Moms and dads who participate in the parenting program earn points that can be cashed in to get items for their baby.
Emergency Shelter & Affordable Housing
Salvation Army Rathgeber Center for Families
The Rathgeber Center for Families opened in February 2020 and is the largest facility of its kind in Central Texas because it allows dads, moms, and guardians to stay with their children while 100 percent of households are case managed. Our services help families move from homelessness to stable housing, confidence, and self-sufficiency.
Austin Shelter for Women and Children
The Austin Shelter for Women and Children (ASWC) is a low barrier, housing focused emergency shelter serving women and dependent children experiencing homelessness. Our goal as operator of the program is to provide “wrap-around” services designed to assist homeless women in ensuring that homelessness is brief, rare, and non-recurring.

SAFE Alliance
The SAFE Alliance is a merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace, both long-standing and respected human service agencies in Austin serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. Our services are free and available to all people, of all identities, regardless of race, gender, age, sex, status, or any other factor.
Survive2Thrive Foundation
The COVID-19 Domestic Violence Phone Bank is now OPEN 24/7 in Austin! We are offering assistance to those victims who have been placed on the waitlist at a local Austin shelter and/or have filed a police report with local law enforcement.
Hope Alliance
Hope Alliance is Williamson County’s only resource center and emergency shelter for those affected by family and sexual violence.
