One of the things we hear from women sometimes is, “I’m not sure if you can help me.” There are a lot of reasons why making an adoption plan can feel complicated.
Adoption Advocates has been providing adoption services for more than 30 years, and we’ve counseled thousands of pregnant women. In other words, we’ve been around awhile and we’ve seen a lot!
You may be in a situation that you’re embarrassed by, worried about, or feel is a huge obstacle – but please know that our adoption specialists have probably already helped someone who faces similar challenges. We will not judge you, and we will be able to help you as well.
In the past we have helped women who:
- Don’t know who the father is
- Have used, or are currently using, drugs and alcohol
- Are married, but the baby’s father is not her husband’s
- Are pregnant as the result of a sexual assault
- Trying to get out of abusive relationship and are worried for their child’s safety
- Are homeless
- Are not a legal citizen of the United States
- Have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder
- Are a minor/under the age of 18
- Identify as LGBTQ+, including nonbinary and transgender
No matter what your concern, we encourage you to reach out to one of our counselors. She will be able to help you figure out your options – with no judgement or pressure – and, if you choose adoption, guide you through the adoption process.
