Hello! We are the Laras; David, Kristy, and Kevin. We are a very happy, quirky, nerdy little bunch and we are ready to welcome another little one into our family. We love spending time together and doing things as a family, whether it’s swimming, playing at the park, or reading stories at bedtime. Family is the most important thing to us.
We want to thank you for considering an open adoption. We have already been touched by open adoption through our son, Kevin. We are so grateful that his biological mom chose us to be his parents.
Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family
Play Mario Kart | Read Amelia Bedelia | Travel to Disney World | Visit the arcade | Teach him or her how to ride a bike | Celebrate Thanksgiving | Bake cookies | Watch The Little Mermaid | Play with Hot Wheels and Care Bears
Our Son
We have a son who came to us through open adoption. His name is Kevin and he is 4 years old. He is super excited to become a big brother. Some of his favorite things are Paw Patrol, Spider-Man, Monster Trucks, Swimming, Pizza, Chocolate, Ice Cream, and just being silly.
OUR HOME
We have a beautiful 2-story house in Buda. It has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Kevin has a room, there is an extra bedroom which we also use as an exercise room, and finally, there is a room that is ready for a new addition. We are just a 5-minute walk to the neighborhood Lazy River, where we spend many evenings and weekends during the summer. We just moved here in 2019, and plan to be here for a very long time.
Our Hobbies
Our shared hobbies are riding bikes, dance parties and playing video games.
Kevin and Kristy love crafting, drawing, painting and swimming.
David and Kevin love music and fishing.
HOW WE MET
David and I met online. We are both kind of shy and not very social. Once we make friends we open up, but the initial meeting people was a struggle for us. So naturally building a friendship online was perfect for us. We became such good friends, quickly met each other’s family and knew we were meant to be together. Our quirky personalities and love of video games was a sign we would be perfect for each other. Here we are 18 years later and still going strong. More in love than when we started.
What Adoption Means to Us
Adoption to us means family! Kristy has wanted to be a mom all her life. She had a large collection of baby dolls and dreamt of when she would have a baby. When we struggled with infertility, we didn’t let our dream come to an end. Together we decided that adoption was a beautiful way to grow our family and allow us to be parents.
