Pregnancy, Labor & Postpartum Support
San Antonio Birth Doulas
Doulas provide pregnant and new parents with support and one-on-one education during pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding, newborn care, and bonding. Childbirth preparation classes and lactation consultation are available. Free services are available to low-income pregnant women and pregnant teens, and their families.
Postpartum Support International
PSI-TX is the Texas state chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI), the world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to helping those suffering from perinatal mood disorders, the most common complication of childbirth. Our mission is to promote awareness, education, prevention, and treatment of perinatal mental health issues affecting mothers, their families, and support systems in all areas of Texas.
Latched Support
We provide families with the material assistance and education they need to get the best start in life. This program is open to parents and legal guardians with a child 0-36 months of age.
Food Resources
San Antonio Food Bank
The San Antonio Food Bank takes pride in fighting hunger, feeding hope in our 16 county service area. We believe that no child should go to bed hungry, adults should not have to choose between a hot meal and utilities, nor a senior sacrifice medical care for the sake of a meal.
St. Stephen’s CARE Center
St. Stephen’s CARE Center is a client-choice food pantry for those who need us most. Clients can shop for food just like a grocery store, but they checkout for free, providing dignity to all.

House of Neighborly Service
Family Support offers services to our core programs through case management, diapers, clothing, and food. Families are assisted through a variety of challenges, including medical, housing, and legal. We partner with the Texas Diaper Bank and the Assistance League of San Antonio to distribute diapers and clothing.
A New Life for a New Generation
A New Life For A New Generation is a non-profit designed to help parents and guardians with material assistance such as diapers and wipes. Parents who are pregnant or have children 36 months and younger are encouraged to make an appointment or stop by to see how our programs may be able to assist you.

Haven for Hope
The Haven for Hope mission is to offer a place of hope and new beginnings. We do this by providing, coordinating and delivering an efficient system of care for people experiencing homelessness in San Antonio.
Visitation House
Visitation House Ministries provides a service enriched transitional housing program for women and children experiencing homelessness.
Salvation Army Emergency Family Shelter
The shelter provides immediate, short-term housing for women and families experiencing homelessness. The objective is to move these individuals and families from crisis to stability with emergency shelter. Rooms come available most days on a first-come, first-served basis.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Alpha Home
This nonprofit treatment center offers specialized counseling for children of mothers who are addicts and alcoholics. Provides substance abuse treatment and counseling services. Medicaid/Sliding fee scale available. Services provided at more than one location.
The Center for Health Care Services Mommies Program
Mommies Program is an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program open to pregnant women and mothers of minor children, including those seeking reunification with children in Texas Department of Family and Protective Services custody. Trauma-informed and gender-specific treatment targets mothers who are struggling with substance use and mental health disorders.

FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION SERVICES – BATTERED WOMEN’S SHELTER
Provides temporary shelter, counseling, and case management services to women and children who have been victims of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.
Bexar County Family Justice Center
The FJC is a collaborative community response to domestic violence. It is the co-location of a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work together, under one roof, to provide coordinated services to victims of domestic violence.
