Hi there. We’re Adam and Noe. Thanks for checking out our page. Our goal is to give you a sense of who we are, what we’re about, and what kind of life we can provide to a child. We have a lot of love to give and are ready to become cool dads that tell the best dad jokes :)
Adam is from Philadelphia and has lived all over the US – New Jersey, San Francisco, New York, Miami, DC, and now Austin where he’s staying put with Noe. Adam loves being active and working on DIY projects and taking care of the ranch that we have just outside of Austin. It’s all about experiences over things for Adam. Noe grew up in San Antonio and went to college at UT. He is a great cook, enjoys gardening, and is the host with the most.
In 2016 while traveling in Malaysia, we met. We connected, experienced some incredible adventures, and traveled together for another 10 months before deciding to move to New York for work.
After a couple of years in NYC, it was time to find a home, build a life, and grow as a family. Austin was no doubt where we wanted to create that life. Noe grew up there, and Adam travelled there many times for work, and loved it. Next step, become dads.
Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family
Make pizza | Learn to ski and snowboard | Collect eggs from our chickens | Visit family on the East Coast | Go to the state fair | Road trips
OUR HOME
Our home-base is in central Austin and we specifically bought this house because it felt like a home we could raise a family in. It was also on a cul-de-sac, which is great for when Adam decides to bust out the long-board. We love the location and all of our friendly neighbors.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a loft/office and one car garage with a fenced backyard. Plenty of space and room for a kid to run around and have fun (with the doggies, too).
We also have a small ranch, about 30-minutes from town, that we like to escape to on weekends. We call it Ocio Ranch. It’s a special place that we share with friends and family. We have goats, sheep, a donkey, chickens, guinea hens, and koi fish out there. Many of our animals are rescues and they bring us and our friends and families and everyone who comes in contact with them so much joy.
OUR PETS
We have two dogs (Ava and Kodi) and recently said goodbye to our 15 year old English Bulldog, Baby. Ava is an 8-year-old terrier mix that Adam found on the side of Highway 95 in Miami. She was only 6 weeks old when he found her and immediately fell in love with her. He’s had her ever since. Kodi is new to the family. In January, we found a litter of 5 pups on the side of the road. We found homes for all of them and decided to keep one. We named her Kodi. She’s a shepherd mix who loves to play fetch and swim. She’s been a great addition to our family this year.
We’ve also got a bunch of animals out at the ranch – a donkey, some goats, sheep, chickens, guinea hens, and even koi fish.
PARENTING PHILOSOPHY
We will encourage and foster self expression, love, and empathy to nurture individuality and critical thinking. We believe that communication and openness are essential in parenting, and all relationships for that matter. Parenting takes real work, love, and compassion. We will raise our child to value knowledge, transparency, and communication. Additionally, it’s important to create space for fun. Life can be tough and knowing how to enjoy the ups as well as the downs can make all the difference.
OUR EXTENDED FAMILY
Our families are the best! Noe’s parent’s live in San Antonio and we meet up often for lunches and dinners. They’re so excited to have a grandchild, and we’re so excited that we have them to help us 🙂. Noe’s two younger sisters will be great Tia’s – one lives in NYC and is a PR executive, the other in DC as a lawyer. They’re strong independent women who will make great role models.
Adam’s parents are not together. His dad lives in Miami as a nurse – he’s from Cuba, and will bring so much culture and passion. His mom (1 of 13 kids — too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list) lives in Philadelphia along with his sister who is a teacher. She’ll be a really fun aunt. Adam’s mom is energetic and loving with a big South Philly personality. She’s excited to have another grandchild to spoil and love.
Adam’s brother and sister-in-law live in New Jersey with their 1-year old daughter, that Adam is the god-father for. Because of COVID, we FaceTime a lot. We’re happy that our future child will have a cousin to grow up with.
HOW WE MET
We met in Malaysia in 2016 while traveling. We were both in a work travel program called Remote Year (travel while working remotely for a full year). During that year, we got to see the world. We had a blast on the beaches of Southeast Asia, experienced our first winter in Europe, and ate almost everything in Latin America. Over the course of the year we fell in love. We got to meet and become friends with people from different cultures, share unique experiences, and bond through challenges. When it was all over we moved back to the United States together. A few years later, we married.
