Ready to Adopt
Jennifer S.
Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I live in Houston. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I know this cannot be an easy decision, and I cannot imagine the emotions you are feeling. Please know I think you are brave and courageous for choosing this path. Hope this page gives you a sense of who I am and the type of parent I will be. If you choose me, I would be honored to parent your child. He or she would be loved not just by me but my community of family and friends. I pray that whatever decision you make you feel peace and love.

Teach him or her how to cook and make family favorites together like my mom’s lasagna and chicken soup
Introduce him or her to his/her cousins and have a family water gun fight

Have dance parties

My Home
I live in a two story home with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. It has lots of windows which lets in a lot of natural light. I bought it because I fell in love with the kitchen. I love hosting family and friends for holidays and get togethers. My first floor is completely open so I can chat with family and friends as I cook. I can’t wait to cook and bake for and with the child I adopt. My house is within walking distance to the community playground and pool and there are lots of young kids in the neighborhood who are always ready to play.

Hobbies
I love to travel and took my dream trip to Japan this year to see the cherry blossoms. I can’t wait to travel with my child and see the excitement in his/her eyes when we get to explore new places. Whether we travel locally or internationally, there are always fun things to experience and explore. My favorite memories growing up are traveling around Texas with my parents in their red Ford Taurus and getting to see and experience the sights.

My Extended Family
Family is so important to me. Growing up, I loved going to NJ and Oklahoma seeing my parents’ extended families. Now our family comes to Houston to celebrate all family milestones, and I am in the center of planning, hosting, cooking and making sure everyone is having a great time. I view adoption as a way to expand my family not just with a child but also with his or her birthparents. I look forward to staying connected and celebrating holidays and family birthdays together.

Parenting Philosophy
My job as the parent is to help the child I adopt to discover who he or she is, including his or her gifts and interests and then to nurture that in him/her. My parents gave this to me and I think it is one of the greatest gifts a child can have other than knowing he or she is loved unconditionally.

What Adoption Means to Me
I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and God put adoption in my heart. Adoption is a beautiful gift. To me it is not just about adopting a child but expanding my family to include the child and his or her birth parents. Growing up I loved celebrating holidays and family milestones with the extended family and my goal would be to have as open of a relationship as you are comfortable having. Your child would grow up knowing you and the brave and selfless decision you made out of love to place him or her for adoption.
