Cris & Sam
We met in the summer of 2016 and have been together ever since.
Sam is patient, hard-working, and loves sports; she played soccer, golf, and swimming growing up. Cris is outgoing and kind and loves cooking, trying new foods, and helping others.
We married in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. We both have flexible jobs that allow for a great work/life balance and ensure family is our priority.
Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family
Play Lego Sets | Read Tomorrow I’ll Be Brave and Tomorrow I’ll Be Kind | Eat Enchiladas | Travel to the beach | Visit family and all the cousins | Celebrate Christmas | Teach him or her how to cook and play soccer | Cheer on the Manchester United Soccer team | Watch Harry Potter movies | Bake Mexican Lime Pie
Our Home
We live in a lovely three-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s close to many parks, walking and biking trails, and playgrounds. There are plenty of restaurants around that offer all kinds of food. The area is peaceful and has a small-town vibe, even though it’s in the middle of a big city.
We’ve put a lot of love into making our house a true home. We’ve got a special room ready for your child, but we’re waiting to decorate it so we can include something meaningful from their background and we would love your input as well, in any way you would like to. Our neighborhood is full of all kinds and diverse types of families and is very welcoming.

Our Extended Family
Family is central to our lives. We cherish the time spent with loved ones, especially during holidays. We’re grateful for our supportive families who accept us as we are. Sam’s parents and brother live nearby, so we often see them and enjoy activities with Sam’s nephews. Cris’s family is in Mexico, and we visit them four to five times a year. Our family gatherings are always frequent and full of laughter.
Chosen Family
We have a strong support network within our chosen extended family. Our chosen family means that we are there for each other through all the ups and downs of life. We have friends from different stages of our lives, including childhood friends, those who came into our lives when we needed them the most, colleagues who have become like family, and lifelong friends.
Travel
Travel is a passion we both cherish, and we’re thrilled at the thought of sharing it with our future child. Together, we’ve explored over 22 countries on three continents, which has expanded our horizons and deepened our love for the world’s diverse cultures. We can’t wait to create new memories and embark on adventures as a family
How We Met
In the summer of 2016, Sam went to Cancun for her childhood best friend’s birthday weekend celebration and met Cris through the same friend. All it took was a simple “Hola, Sam,” and the connection was instant. Cris unknowingly cooked Sam’s favorite dish that weekend, enchiladas verdes.
In September, Sam flew back to Cancun to see Cris again, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. For the next four years, we navigated a long-distance relationship, seeing each other almost every month, with our first Valentine’s Day celebrated in Paris. In the summer of 2018, Sam proposed. She had hidden the ring in a special box she gave Cris on their one-year anniversary, filled with photos and quotes from their first year together. The last photo was blank, and when Cris opened the box, Sam popped the question, revealing the ring in a hidden compartment.
We had planned to get married in the summer of 2020 in Cancun, but he pandemic changed everything. Still, we adjusted, marrying in court without a reception due to quarantine. Now, we’re excited to grow our family through adoption and make our families even bigger, knowing that we’ve always been meant to be.
What Adoption Means to Us
As a same-sex couple, we can’t have a child on our own, but our hearts are full of love to give. Coming from strong, loving families, we’ve always dreamed of creating our own. We promise to shower this child with love, guidance, and the knowledge of how special they are to have a birth parent like you.
We’ll be positive role models, teaching them the values we were raised with, and embracing diversity and self-expression. We’ll be there for every important moment, ensuring they have everything they need to thrive. We’re excited to grow our family and hope to include you in our journey, in whatever way feels right for you.
