Sierra & Sunny

Hello and welcome to our page!

We’re so glad you’re here. It takes incredible courage to take this step, and we want you to know how much we appreciate you viewing our profile. We’re excited to show you a little bit about who we are and would love the opportunity to one day learn more about you.

Sunny and I are proud of the loving and inviting home we’ve built over the course of our 7 years together. We’ve always enjoyed each other’s company, and we took to building our lives together almost right away. We have a 14-year-old son who brings so much joy to our lives and a furry companion named Clarke who is always happy to meet new friends.

Our days are filled with laughter and fun and we all look forward to time outside whether it’s gardening, cheering at a football game or simply enjoying each other’s company. Family means everything to us, and we’re excited about the possibility of growing our family through adoption.

Thank you for considering us as a part of your journey. No matter what path you choose, we hope that you find peace along the way.

Our Son

We have a 14 year old named Jay. He takes after his mom with his love of music and singing, and is a member of the color guard at his school. Jay is a free spirit who loves to laugh with his friends and family. He is very intelligent and will strike a conversation with anyone who will listen! His current obsessions include crocheting, roller skating, and playing video games. He’s so excited at the possibility of welcoming a new little sibling into our family that he’s already crocheting a baby blanket for his future sibling.

Our Dog

Clarke is our 8 year old pittie/boxer mix. She is a very curious dog who loves to look for frogs and any other strange bug in our backyard. She loves people and is happiest when she gets attention and pets or is cozied up with a blanket at our side. She is extremely treat motivated and loves to eat, just like both her mamas. She’s great with kids because she’s gentle, patient and friendly.

Our Parenting Philosophy

We’ve had lots of experience and practice polishing our parenting philosophy and style with our son, Jay and experience working with kids. Sunny previously owned a preschool so she’s a natural when it comes to the younger years, and Sierra currently works at a 6th-12th grade school in Austin and has had 11 years to learn the ins and outs of the pre-teen and teenage years. With that experience, we’ve learned that it’s not a one size fits all approach, as we’ve had every type of kid imaginable. We know the basis of good parenting and raising children is love, support and safety, and commit to giving the child space to be themselves while providing structure for success.

Our Extended Family

Sierra grew up with a very close-knit family unit. She is still very close with her family! Her sister lives in Dallas currently and comes down frequently to visit. She is ready to be the bougie aunt that spoils her niece or nephew. Her brother lives in Japan with his wife and two kids. He video chats regularly and is always interested in our lives. Her mom lives right down the street! Sierra and her mom enjoy doing outdoor activities and watching sports together. She rivals our excitement for a new little one in our family!

With Sunny, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Sunny and her family all love to garden, lend a helping hand and spend time with others, especially each other. Sunny’s mom and dad met in their high school choir, and they’ve been involved in music in some way ever since. They live on a lake in East Texas and they’re always willing to take people out on the boat and go fishing! They’ve always dreamed of a house full of grandkids playing and swimming. Her sister lives in West Texas with her three kids and loves to be active. The family has dubbed her the “baby whisperer” due to her calm and gentle demeanor.

Both families are supportive and look forward to meeting a new family member.

What Adoption Means to Us

To us, adoption means sharing our love, home, traditions and extended family with a new child. Our home has always been filled with unconditional love and support and we can’t wait to connect our family with a new family on a new adventure. We commit to raising a child that knows their story and where they come from. We understand the complexities of adoption and have chosen this path because we know that open adoption is the best option for all parties involved.
