OUR HOME

Our home is located in a nice neighborhood in Round Rock, Texas. We have a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom home that’s 2300 square feet. Our backyard has plenty of space to run and play. We have a lot of art and pictures on the walls, because we love to surround ourselves with happy memories and cool paintings. Our neighborhood is located near a lot of parks with great playgrounds, pools, and fun activities for families.

OUR HOBBIES

Kristin loves thrifting for vintage clothing and knick-knacks. As a hobby, she resells fun and interesting things at booths in an antique mall. Josh really enjoys cooking, photography, and woodworking. Together we love taking mini road trips to small towns while listening to an interesting podcast. We also love trying out new restaurants, getting wrapped up in a new TV show, or spending time with the people we love.

Our Parenting Philosophy

Our philosophy on parenting is to provide our child with a safe and loving environment where successes are celebrated and mistakes are okay. We believe that life is all about learning and look to give our child the encouragement and guidance to make positive choices in life. We have the ability to provide our child with opportunities to explore interests and find their passion. We believe open communication and respect are so important in developing a strong relationship and fostering trust. We want our child to know where they came from and have the ability to maintain those contacts, because knowing and understanding their history can be an important part of their identity.

How We Met

We both work for the same company, so we’d see each other around campus often. Josh noticed Kristin on a dating site and they struck up a conversation about traveling. Since they both mentioned wanting to visit South America, they had their first date at Bueno Aires Café in Austin 9 years ago and have been inseparable ever since.

Other Children

We have a 12 year old niece who’s an awesome kid. She’s goofy, fun, and curious. She was adopted when she was 2 years old. Several of our close friends also have little ones ranging from 1 to 5 years old.

What Adoption Means to Us

To us, adoption is an opportunity to grow our family. It’s a chance to open our home and our hearts to new and exciting experiences. It’s an incredible opportunity to both teach and to learn. We see it as a way to share our love and values to a little one who could use a good home. Adoption allows us to create lasting memories and traditions together, strengthening our family bond. It’s a journey that can undoubtedly have its challenges, but we are committed to facing them with patience and love. Ultimately, it’s about creating our forever family. A family built on acceptance, support, understanding, and unconditional love.
