Hai & Isaac

Hey there! Welcome to our profile! We’re super excited to start our adoption journey and can’t wait to welcome our first child into our family. We know you’re making a tough decision, and we truly admire your strength and courage. We hope getting to know us a bit better brings you some comfort and assurance.

We’re a loving, multicultural family living in the lively Austin, TX area. Hai is originally from Vietnam, and Isaac hails from Mexico. Our backgrounds create a beautiful mix of Mexican and Vietnamese cultures, and we even speak three languages at home! Our dream is to raise a child in a diverse, inclusive environment, surrounded by a community that celebrates different cultures. We love cooking traditional dishes from our heritage and can’t wait to share these customs with our future children.

Since tying the knot in 2018 and buying our first home in 2020, our place has been filled with warmth, safety, and lots of love. We’re dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where our family can grow and thrive, enriched by the values and traditions we cherish.

Most importantly, we want to be part of your team and honor your story. We understand the importance of your role in your child’s life and promise to respect your involvement and wishes every step of the way. Thanks for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We’re hopeful we can provide the loving home and supportive environment you envision for your child.

Our Pet

Our family includes Sgt. Pepper, our delightful Bernedoodle who’s a charming blend of Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle. Rescued from a family with kids, he’s wonderfully gentle and has a special fondness for children. In winter, he’s our fluffy teddy bear, and in summer, he dons a dapper short fur coat. Sgt. Pepper loves nothing more than spending time with our nieces and nephews, frolicking at the dog park, and enjoying epic, 16-hour nap marathons!

Our Home

Our cozy two-story family home is made up of four spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms, and dedicated home theater room. The living room offers a view and easy access to a lush green belt with a serene pond, a favorite spot for families to fish on weekends. We’re nestled amidst miles of scenic nature trails that lead to swimming pools, fun splash pads, and children’s playgrounds, perfect for enjoying the vibrant Texas summer!

Our Hobbies

As a family, we cherish our biannual escapes during summer and winter breaks. Whether we’re heading to the mountains or beachfront havens, we love to adventure. Our activities of choice range anywhere from diving into scuba adventures, to carving slopes on snowboards, to catching waves on surfboards.

Closer to home in Austin, weekends are often spent camping under the stars and exploring scenic waterfall hiking trails.

Back at our cozy abode, we delight in whipping up diverse cultural cuisines, indulging in movie marathons, and gathering around our outdoor fire pit for cozy evenings with marshmallow s’mores!

Parenting Philosophy

Our parenting philosophy centers around the transformative power of love and understanding. We strive to cultivate a deep sense of respect for our child’s unique qualities and interests, encouraging them to explore their passions while guiding them with gentle guidance and support. Through open communication and mutual respect, we aim to instill strong values of kindness, resilience, and integrity, preparing them to navigate life’s challenges with courage and grace. Above all, our journey as parents is guided by an unwavering commitment to fostering a loving environment where our children can thrive emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

Our Extended Family

In our family, celebrating cultural heritage is a joyous tapestry woven from both Mexican and Vietnamese roots. We cherish the richness of our backgrounds by embracing vibrant traditions and delicious cuisines that span generations. From Vietnamese New Year (Tet) celebrations with traditional ao dai (traditional outfits) and banh chung (rice cakes) to lively fiestas adorned with mariachi music and homemade tamales, every gathering is a colorful mosaic of flavors and customs. Through these cultural celebrations, we forge deep connections with our extended family, fostering a shared sense of belonging and unity that transcends borders and generations. We travel to Vietnam & Mexico biannually to visit our extended families. We will ensure that our future child possesses three citizenships!

What Adoption Means to Us

To us, open adoption is a profound commitment to honoring both our child’s story and yours. It means embracing transparency and communication, ensuring our child grows up with a deep understanding and appreciation of their roots. We believe in creating a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and supports their upbringing, integrating their birth culture alongside our own traditions. We want our child to feel a true sense of belonging within our diverse families and for them to have a chance to bond with our nieces and nephews that are similar in age.

Open adoption allows us to cultivate meaningful relationships with our child’s birth family, fostering a network of love and respect that spans generations. It means weaving together different threads of heritage into a cohesive tapestry of identity, where our child can thrive with a strong sense of belonging and connection to their past, present, and future.

5 Things About

Hai

My family immigrated to the US from Vietnam when I was 7. I’m a dual citizen of the US & Vietnam.

I have visited over 20 countries and love exploring new cultures. My favorite destination so far has been the Philippines because of its beautiful beaches and rich coral reefs, ideal for my scuba diving adventures!

I love playing board games with friends and family. Some of my favorites are Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, and Scrabble.

I’m an adventurer at heart with a wide variety of interests in outdoor activities, sea-to-sky. Some of my favorite outdoor activities include scuba diving, surfing, camping, hiking, and snowboarding.

My favorite type of jokes are dad jokes. Why do I love dad jokes so much? Because they’re how eye-roll, of course!
