OUR HOME

We live in Georgetown in a 4 bedroom, 2,448 sq. ft. two story home. The neighborhood is very safe and has a diverse community. Neighbors take walks with their kids and it is very common to see people running throughout the whole day. We are walking distance to the community center that includes a pool and playground for children. Ruben’s older brother and his wife with their three children live 5 minutes away, and plenty of our friends live in the area, so our child will grow up and share many adventures with cousins Ana, Amanda and Angela and with our friends’ kids; surely they will spend a lot of time together.

Priscila is a great baker, she loves baking bread, flan, tres leches, banana bread and some other yummy pastries. Our home is a place where family and friends come often. We host Christian gatherings once in a while to sing, read the bible, and encourage one another. This includes not only adults but also children and young people.

OUR HOBBIES

Explore new local places – this has become one of our hobbies, we have discovered some nice places around us by visiting and exploring. Some great food places and nice small towns have been in our path. Driving to Marble Falls and sightseeing the Blue Bonnets is a blast.

Watch YouTube Travel channels – this has become a great way for us to travel around the world and know new cultures and traditions. There is some much that we would like to know first hand, however, we take advantage of this travel channels to get a glimpse of the world.

Host/Visit weekly gatherings – one of our favorite times to host is with the young people from church that includes our nieces. We eat together and have tons of fun and laughs as we play board games. Singing with them and reading the Word is something that we really treasure.

Parenting Philosophy

As parents we look forward to raising our child in an atmosphere full of love and understanding. For us it’s important to replicate what we receive as children by our parents, a lot of love, affection, empathy, understanding in good and bad situations and guidance. We want to help our child grow healthy and as safely as possible by setting up clear boundaries and expectations that will help them to grow with a good structure in life.

Education is something that we value and we look forward to providing the best possible education as the child grows up. This is not only on the academic side but also on the human side. We will educate to make sure that our child is well rounded and built up to be a productive member of society and a kind person. We want to raise our child to be respectful, kind toward others, honest with himself and others, and a good and trustworthy friend.

We want to raise an individual who is confident in who they are, feeling loved and secure.

Our Pet

We got our little bundle of happiness back in March of 2022. Her name is Joy and she is full of energy and a lot of love to give out unconditionally. She is a Yorkie Terrier and although she is full of energy she sleeps a lot. We got her all spoiled in regards to food, she loves to eat chicken breast, carrots and apples. We enjoy taking her out for walks and we visit mostly dog friendly places to make sure that she can come and enjoy the days with us. She also has traveled with us to Mexico, Colorado and Puerto Rico.

How We Met

We met in Mexico City back in 2005. After college graduation in 2005, Priscila decided to give two years of her life to God by setting a time to study the bible and for missionary work, so she moved to Mexico City in August of the same year. Ruben graduated from college in 2004 and moved from Puerto Rico to New York City for a one year internship related to his school major. Once finished, he decided to attend the same Bible School, so he also moved to Mexico City in August of 2005.

After two years, we finished the missionary program and after graduation dinner, Ruben asked Priscila for her phone number but she was so shy that she only shared her email address. We immediately started to email each other and after a couple of weeks we spoke by phone for the first time. That first call was from 6:00pm to 6:00 am the next day. There was an instant connection. We started to know each other and as we spent more time together we fell in love. We both knew that we would spend the rest of our lives together. Even though we have different personalities, we do have a lot in common and share the same core values. We are soulmates.

Priscila

Food is my favorite topic…

I’m really good at cooking… I know, I know… Ruben also cooks very well. We’re foodies and we both like to cook at home.

I’m not afraid to try new things. In restaurants I always like to try new things to eat… However, Ruben’s plates are always more tasty.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. My dream job is to own a brunch place.
